The first round of the 1/10 electric French National championship took place last week-end near Lille in northern France. More than 50 drivers attended the event, the race started with 5 free-practice runs on saturday morning followed by 3 quali runs in the afternoon. 2 more qualifications round were run on sunday morning before the afternoon's triple mains. It was an indoor race, the track layout was quite technical and the carpet had a medium grip level.
XRAY was mainly represented by myself, Nicolas Schwendimann, Maxime Lazarz and Jeremy Deram in Stock, while Manu Wagner, Alex Laurent, Remi Callens, Mat Rascol and Jeremy Limoges competed in modifed with their XRAY cars.
Qualifications went very well for Nicolas Schwendimann as he put his GM powered T4 to the top of the times sheets for all the 5 rounds, he got also the overall TQ.

It was a different story in modified as the yokomo boys were setting the pace, local driver Remi Callens ended qualifiers with a 4th place on the grid, just in front of his teammate Alexandre Laurent. These 3 drivers were the only one to make the main for XRAY, while all the others suffered bad luck or faced handling problems with their car.
Starting on the first row Nicolas Schwendimann won easily A1 and A2 and took by the same occasion the overall win with a very fast car which was also super easy to drive.
In modified, Alex Laurent succeeded in fighting his way up to the podium by finishing 3rd. Whereas Remi Callens couldn't convert his 4th starting place into a good result as he only managed a 6th place overall.
